Countless love

Ladybugs do not like me;
they think my shit does stink.
Come, won’t you hold my hand
because I think I’m on the brink.

Friendly people don’t crowd my doorway.
I might have one friend.
She lives inside my fish tank.
She’s a sea anemone

Doesn’t take a lot to love her,
and she gives it right back.
Never told me fiction,
she always spoke the fact.

Count with me
the countless times
the world’s lied to me.

Forget will you
the countless times
we’ve lied to you.

Mother Nature doesn’t even love me,
except my sea anemone.
But, my friend won’t live much longer
with those clowns who abuse her.

I could not pay the electric,
so my fish tank light went out.
Come, won’t you hold my hand
as I watch my friend turn brown.

Count with me
the countless days
ahead of me.

I’ll be with you
the countless days
ahead of you.

I won’t forget my fish tank,
or the friend it held.
And, you’re not a replacement.
You’re both too good for that.
